Newswise — Keith Rollag, Babson College management division assistant professor, has won the 2005 New Educator Award from the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (OBTS), a national academic organization focused on improving management education, primarily in organizational behavior, leadership, and strategy.

The OBTS New Educator Award recognizes a person who has shown early promise to make a difference in the field of management education, bringing new ways of thinking about leadership, teamwork, and employee motivation.

Rollag was praised for his emphasis on student learning and the development of in-class management simulations, as well as his focus on the scholarship of teaching.

"I am honored to receive the award," says Rollag. "I've really enjoyed teaching at Babson College and value the school's commitment to both management education and research."

Rollag's research focuses primarily on rapid on-boarding of newcomers in organizations, and has been published in MIT/Sloan Management Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the Journal of Management Education. His work has also been featured in Harvard Management Update, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Boston Business Journal, IEEE Spectrum, and Wired News.

Rollag earned BS and MS degrees from Washington University, and worked as a product development manager at Procter & Gamble before obtaining his Ph.D. from Stanford University.
