Newswise — DALLAS AND CHICAGO (Oct. 19, 2011) – Nationally acclaimed Studer Group, a private health care consulting firm, has chosen David Biggerstaff, vice president and administrator of Dallas Children’s Medical Center at Legacy (http://www.childrens.com), to lead a comprehensive session at its ninth annual “What’s Right in Health Care” conference in Chicago, Oct. 19 through 21. “We are honored to have David represent Children’s at Legacy at this year’s conference,” said Quint Studer, founder and CEO of the Studer Group. “He brings years of health care experience with him, and I know this year’s attendees with leave with valuable solutions to problems they face every day. It’s all about making the healthcare industry a better place for people to work, physicians to practice medicine and patients to receive care.”

On Thursday, Oct. 20, Biggerstaff, along with Josh Bourgeois, Children’s at Legacy’s director of clinical services, will share the success Children’s has found in the verification and validation of Evidence-Based LeadershipSM. Attendees will walk away with tools and step-by-step strategies they can take back to their own organizations and begin implementing right away to achieve and sustain operational excellence.

Since opening its doors in 2008, Children’s at Legacy continues to rank high in operational success. The emergency department, operating room and inpatient/ICU services have finished above the 90th percentile in both overall satisfaction and likelihood to recommend for each of the last three years.

“I am excited to share Children’s at Legacy’s best practices with such an influential group of thought leaders,” Biggerstaff said. “Our commitment to quality, safety, service and family-centered care has not changed since day one, and we are very proud of our high approval ratings.”

In his fourth year at Children’s, Biggerstaff comes to the “What’s Right in Health Care” conference well versed in the many facets of health care administration. At Children’s, he oversees daily operations and serves the organization as a member of the senior leadership team.
