ACADEMY UNVEILS NEW ELECTRONIC VERSION OF PEDIATRICS

CHICAGO--The American Academy of Pediatrics today unveiled Pediatrics electronic pages, a new source of the latest pediatric research available through the internet. Pediatrics electronic pages will complement the peer-reviewed studies from Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Every month, Pediatrics electronic pages will contain six to 10 new peer-reviewed articles covering the latest medical advances. Abstracts of these studies will appear in every issue of Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and will be differentiated by green pages. However, the complete original articles will only be available on Pediatrics electronic pages.

"Pediatrics electronic pages offers pediatricians and the public internet access to a wide variety of child health information from birth through young adulthood," said Editor-in-Chief Jerold Lucey, MD, FAAP.

Pediatrics electronic pages will offer special features only available on the internet, including on-line classified advertisements, hyperlinks for extended navigation, on-line search capabilities and previews of upcoming issues.

To access Pediatrics electronic pages, individuals with a personal computer will need an internet connection and a World Wide Web Browser (software designed to access and interact on "the Web"). The site is located at http://www.pediatrics.org.

The American Academy of Pediatrics is an organization of 51,000 pediatricians dedicated to the health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
