WASHINGTON (July 8, 2024)— France has seen “high drama” in its election cycle. Prime Minister Gabriel Attal offered his resignation. A left-wing alliance, the New Popular Front (NFP) has won the most seats in the French Parliament, and Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally (RN) won 143 seats.

For more context on the matter, please consider Harvey Feigenbaum, professor of political science and international affairs at the George Washington University.
