Newswise — The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will release the first major segment of its new assessment report in Paris on Friday, February 2. Four U.S. scientists who helped write the assessment will take part in a teleconference for the media. The National Center for Atmospheric Research will present the teleconference at 12:00 noon Eastern Time (9:00 a.m. Pacific Time) on February 2.

The teleconference is in addition to an earlier IPCC press conference in Paris that is planned for 3:30 a.m. Eastern Time (9:30 a.m. in Paris), and which will be webcast live. (For details about IPCC's press conference, see http://www.ipcc.ch/press/prwg1.htm.)

The NCAR-hosted teleconference is for credentialed media only. It will not be webcast or broadcast.
