The ADHA® renews its partnership with Colgate® Oral Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for National Dental Hygiene Month 2023, to honor all dental hygienists throughout October. This year’s theme, "Everyday Extraordinary," celebrates dental hygienists who transform everyday tasks with extraordinary expertise.
The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA®) is proud to announce its 2023 Class of Fellows. In this inaugural year of the ADHA Professional Fellows Program, 162 ADHA members representing forty-two states make up the first class with this earned distinction. The distinction honors their ongoing commitment to their education, to the practice of dental hygiene, and to their stellar reputation in areas of ethics, professional responsibility and professional standards.
On July 5, as the 2023 ADHA Annual Conference got underway at McCormick Place in Chicago celebrating the association’s 100th anniversary, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association installed a new Board of Directors, along with ADHA’s new slate of officers for the fiscal year. Newly installed president, Becky Smith, CRDH, EdD, FADHA, spoke in both English and Spanish to the national and state leaders who attended the ceremony, focusing on the power of unity.
It is with profound sadness that the American Dental Hygienists’ Association announces that ADHA CEO, Ann Battrell, M.S.D.H., passed away June 7, 2023. She had recently announced to ADHA leadership that she was extending her medical leave to focus on her health.
