Egypt's Sentencing of Sociologist Protested
American Sociological Association (ASA)Dr. Saad Eddin Ibrahim, a sociology professor at the American University in Cairo, and founder and director of the Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies, was sentenced on May 21, 2001 to seven years in prison by the High State Security Court in Egypt.
