Louis V. Gerstner Jr., chairman of the board and chief executive officer of IBM, will be featured speaker and will receive an honorary degree at the 1999 Rensselaer Honors Convocation. The event will be held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Room 308 of the Darrin Communications Center.
This event, now in its sixth year, honors all levels of students and faculty for their outstanding academic achievements. The 1999 Founders Award, the ceremony's highest honor, will be given to those students who have been nominated for meeting criteria based on "creativity, leadership, and discovery, and the values of pride and responsibility.
