LWW Launches Current Opinion in Allergy and Clinical ImmunologyNew Journal Keeps Specialists Up to Date in a Booming Area

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins today announced the debut of Current Opinion in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a new journal designed to help keep practicing allergist/immunologists stay current with the burgeoning research in their field.

Current Opinion in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, part of the long-standing and well-received Current Opinion journal series, will provide practicing allergists and immunologists with concise, authoritative reviews in key topic areas, including asthma in adults and children; primary immune deficiency diseases; drug, insect, and food allergies; genetics and epidemiology; occupational disease; immunotherapy; skin and eye diseases; and more. Section topics are presented in the same order each year.

Reviews will include comments to place the latest research information in a practical perspective; annotated references to help physicians zero in on the latest studies of interest to them, and editorial opinions from leading experts.

Each bimonthly issue will be available in print and online at www.co-allergy.com. Subscribers will be able to access the full content of every issue, including full-text articles with illustrations, tables, and references. The premiere issue, reviewing upper airway disease and mechanisms of allergy and adult asthma, is available online now.

"Although there are a number of review type print materials for basic immunology from lengthy, in-depth topic reviews to short, brief reviews, there appears to be a void in allergy and clinical immunology for short, concise, current reviews," write Drs. Mark Ballow and G. Walter Canonica, Editors, in the premiere issue. Current Opinion in Allergy and Clinical Immunology helps to address that void. The new publication will provide specialists with a single resource to help them keep pace with the latest research advances, and use that information to help patients suffering from allergic and immunologic diseases.
