The Dark Energy Camera, mounted at the prime focus of the Víctor M. Blanco 4-meter Telescope at the U.S. National Science Foundation Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, was the largest CCD in the world when it entered service in 2012, containing a total of 74 CCDs with 570 megapixels in total.
