Newswise — (NEW YORK – November 6, 2014) The Mount Sinai Health System today announced the appointment of Sandra Myerson, MBA, MS, BSN, RN, to the newly-created position of Senior Vice President and Chief Patient Experience Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System and of the Joseph F. Cullman Jr. Institute for Patient Care. Ms. Myerson will collaborate with hospital and system leadership to develop and foster a patient-centered culture that provides compassionate, coordinated, and exceptional care across the all inpatient and outpatient settings. The Joseph F. Cullman Institute for Patient Care, founded in 2002, collaborates with many departments across the Mount Sinai Health System to improve every aspect of the patient experience.

Ms. Myerson joins Mount Sinai from Press Ganey, where she served as Director of Clinical and Operational Consulting and Managing Consultant, working with clients and leading teams to improve patient flow, improve employee and physician engagement, and improve the patient experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in facilitating collaboration among care providers to improve communication, improve patient care, and optimize processes.

Ms. Myerson is a talented and dynamic healthcare executive with 30 years of progressive nursing and hospital leadership experience in both clinical and administrative realms, and in complex community and academic-affiliated healthcare systems. She presents nationally on such topics as patient flow and the patient experience, and published frequently on various methods of improving the patient experience.

Ms. Myerson, a Registered Nurse, received her nursing degree from Pennsylvania State University. She also has an MBA in Healthcare Administration and an MS in Healthcare Financial Management from the Fox School of Business Management at Temple University.
