Matthew J. Robinson, Professor of Sport Management, can comment on the NHL's decision to skip to 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea. He has written articles on the issue, including a piece in which he argued that although it might seem unpatriotic for an athlete to turn down the chance to compete for his or her country, the reality is that sports is a business, and business interests might come first. Robinson is also Director of the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program, funded by the International Olympic Committee and the U.S. Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Delaware Sport Commission. Robinson is available for interviews. Contact Peter Bothum at 302-831-1418 or [email protected] to set one up.
