Newswise — Toronto – March 11, 2015 – University Health Network (UHN) has launched a new online resource designed to profile the organization’s experts who work frequently with media. The format features profiles of the experts, links to their publications, links to their media work, photographs, videos, and key words which indicate their interests and expertise.

The UHN Expert Centre can be found at www.uhn.ca, clicking the Newsroom button at the top of the page and selecting UHN Expert Centre from the menu. It is a searchable online resource, powered by expertfile.com, which gives journalists a great deal of information about the expert and a snapshot of the expert’s past media work. Some of the features included:

Find An Expert – profiles are indexed by key information areas and are fully searchable using key words to help users find the right expert.

Comprehensive Profiles – all key information is available in one place.

Multimedia & Social Media content – pictures, videos and presentations are posted on the experts’ profile pages. If the individual has social media accounts, these are listed as well.

Fast Connections to Media Relations Staff – The Connect button on the profile pages goes to Public Affairs and a staff member will reach out to the expert and will quickly respond with the expert’s availability.

“We have posted profiles of UHN representatives who have worked with the media,” said Gillian Howard – Vice President, Public Affairs & Communications. “This will help us help journalists find the right expert and ensure that we can respond rapidly to requests on most subjects.”
