Background: The U.S. and Israel leaders will meet today in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in what will likely be their last meeting while President Obama is in office.
Prof. Ziv says: “The meeting is particularly important as it comes on the heels of the $38 billion aid package that the two countries signed last week. President Obama is expected to make a push for Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking so that the vision of a two-state solution can be realized. He will likely make move to promote his vision of a two-state solution during his "lame duck" phase following our presidential elections.”
