Bigger Lungs May Be Better for Transplants
University of IowaA University of Iowa study has found that bigger lungs appear to improve the survival for patients receiving double-lung transplants. The UI team used a new formula based on height and gender to match lung donors and recipients and to calculate optimnal lung sizes for transplant patients. Results published in the Annals of Thoracic Surgery.
