Both first responders and the overall community will be dealing with extreme psychological stress in the coming days after the devastating tornadoes in Lee County, Alabama. Dr. Josh Klapow, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, says that today will be focused on rescue and recovery, but the mental health of those affected by the storms will be severely tested over the coming week. Survivor's guilt and mental exhaustion will play a role in how the affected communities rebound.
