Newswise — Registration is now open for the 2013 American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) Annual Convention and Preconvention Program to be held in New York, New York, April 6–April 10, 2013, at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel. The convention program features courses and sessions tailored to provide comprehensive coverage of ultrasound issues and reflect emerging topics within the many disciplines of ultrasound, giving attendees the opportunity to earn up to 38 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (accepted by the ARDMS) or ARRT Category A Credits.
Ultrasound First, an initiative designed to call attention to the safe, effective, and affordable advantages of ultrasound is a prominent theme for this convention. Courses designed with this mission in mind will focus on cutting-edge clinical applications for using ultrasound first at the point of care as well as address the key components of integrating ultrasound into medical school education.
Abstract submissions have increased by roughly 20% over the past 5 years, a clear indication of the expanding interest and growing attendance for this multispecialty ultrasound event. The program has been extended to 5 days, allowing individuals ample time to attend as many sessions as possible. Information will be provided in a variety of interactive learning formats, including Hands-on Sessions, Three-and Four-Dimensional Volume Data Set Manipulation Sessions, Comprehensive Refresher Sessions, Special Interest Sessions, and Scientific and E-Poster Sessions.
The Exhibit Hall will provide attendees with the opportunity to view and interact with the latest technology, products, and services in the medical ultrasound industry. The AIUM will once again integrate the use of social media tools during the convention to aid in the sharing of information. Convention-related messages, pictures, and videos can be posted on Twitter using hashtag #AIUM13 as well as on the AIUM’s Facebook page.
