Newswise — The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) will host its Annual Convention and Preconvention Program at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 29-April 2, 2014. Registration is now open for a meeting that will deliver both fundamental and cutting-edge educational courses to health care practitioners and scientists interested in all facets of medical ultrasound, from the beginner to the expert.
Over the course of 5 days, in-depth coverage of ultrasound-related issues will grant attendees the opportunity to earn up to 41.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (accepted by the ARDMS) or ARRT Category A Credits. The Preconvention Program will take place on March 29, 2014, and will offer 2 full-day courses, and 5 half-day courses, covering a variety of topics.
The convention features speakers who will engage attendees in a range of interactive learning formats, including Hands-on Sessions, Three- and Four-Dimensional Volume Data Set Manipulation Sessions, Scientific Sessions, Special Interest Sessions, Film Panel Sessions, and Comprehensive Refresher Sessions. A special highlight of the 2014 convention will be the Plenary Session, “Keeping Olympic Athletes in the Game: The Role of Diagnostic Ultrasound,” presented by Bill Moreau, DC, DACBSP, managing director of sports medicine for the United States Olympic Committee.
“The diversity of the annual convention has always provided a platform for ultrasound professionals to expand their knowledge in any discipline of medical ultrasound,” says Annual Convention Committee Chair Joan Mastrobattista, MD. “As ultrasound continues to grow, it is imperative for those utilizing this modality to have the necessary skill set to provide the best patient care.”
The Exhibit Hall will provide attendees with the opportunity to view and interact with the latest technology, products, and services in the medical ultrasound industry.
