(March 15, 2012) -- AMIA, the home for informatics professionals, announced that its Board of Directors will be appointing Kevin Fickenscher, MD as President and Chief Executive Officer. Fickenscher will replace Ted Shortliffe, MD, PhD, a leading expert in the field of informatics, who announced his decision to step down from the position several months ago. Dr. Fickenscher will join AMIA on March 19th and will officially start in the role on April 1st.
