This new journal provides an interdisciplinary research forum for scientists and engineers who are turning to nature for inspiration. Bioinspiration & Biomimetics publishes research involving the study and distillation of principals and functions found in biological systems that have been developed through evolution, the application of this knowledge to produce novel technologies as well as new approaches to solving scientific problems.
The first open issue is now live at bb.iop.org and includes a topical review and papers of high quality from various contributors. Access to the full-text is free of charge throughout 2006.
