New technology extends journal’s reach, improves access
Newswise — (RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC) Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP) is pleased to announce the launch of its iPhone app, which gives readers of the peer-reviewed journal access to research and news as soon as it is published online. This new format is another step in EHP’s efforts to make high-quality science easier to access and available to more people than ever before. The app is available free through iTunes.
Through this technology, iPhone and iPod Touch users can easily access Ahead-of-Print research articles, reviews, commentaries, news, and the podcast series “The Researcher’s Perspective.” Users can view both current and archived issues and can easily search the website through a full-text search function. Content can be viewed as a PDF or online, saved, and forwarded to email. “The iPhone application is the first step toward serving our readers worldwide who rely on their cell phones for Internet connectivity,” said EHP editor-in-chief Hugh Tilson, Ph.D.
EHP is published by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, National Institutes of Health, Public Health Service, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. EHP is an open-access journal, and all content is available free online at http://www.ehponline.org/.
