Newswise — March 13, 2014 (Greenwich, CT) – In recently released data, the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) reported that Greenwich Hospital had the highest ranking for both “overall rating” and “willingness to recommend” in the state of Connecticut, as well as in the nearby New York counties of Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Dutchess.
The intent of the HCAHPS initiative is to provide a standardized survey and method for collecting data that measures hospital care from the patient perspective. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) now requires every adult care hospital in the U.S. to participate in HCAPHS. The survey dates in this report were April 2012 through March 2013 and complete results can be found on the CMS website.
Greenwich Hospital President/CEO Frank Corvino has instituted a culture of service excellence and meticulous attention to the overall patient experience that has garnered the hospital consistent top scores in patient satisfaction. “We are always focused on how we can do things better – always examining issues from the perspective of the patient,” said Corvino. "Every one of our employees takes personal responsibility for making a difference in the life of someone else - that's 'The Greenwich Experience.'"
