Living, breathing buildings: Bio foams could transform the way we build

The cellulose foam is a base for passive dynamics, or motion without traditional energy supply. Responses to humidity and temperature change are converted into directed motion such as opening and closing air conditioning vents or shutting out sunlight.

The large-scale, additive robotic manufacturing platform can lift up to 420kg and work on up to 12m lengths, equipped with a bio foam extruder.
