Rajiv Prabhakar, a postdoctoral scholar in the Chemical Sciences Division, using a solar simulator at Berkeley Lab’s Liquid Sunlight Alliance (LiSA) research facility. The device simulates real-world sunlight in a laboratory setting. Energy from sunlight could be used to drive chemical reactions that convert carbon dioxide and water into value-added chemicals such as methanol or ethanol liquid fuels.
