LaShae Rolle, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, was just 26 when she was diagnosed with a rare type of breast cancer. Long an advocate of making cancer care equitable, her goal now is to design trials and studies focusing on underserved and marginalized minority communities – especially adolescents and young adults (AYAs) who have breast cancer.
