Newswise — ARLINGTON, VA – CRDF Global announces the recipients of its annual George Brown Award for International Scientific Cooperation: Mr. Norman Augustine, retired chairman and CEO of the Lockheed Martin Corporation; and Ms. Henrietta Fore, chairman of the board and executive officer of Holstam International. The 2013 Annual Awards Gala will take place Wednesday, November 6, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center Pavilion in Washington, DC.
“We are pleased to recognize Mr. Augustine and Ms. Fore for their scientific and humanitarian achievements, and critical work advancing international cooperation,” said CRDF Global President and CEO Cathy Campbell. The CRDF Global Annual Awards Gala recognizes individuals for their critical work advancing international cooperation in science and technology. The George Brown Award for International Scientific Cooperation commemorates the late Congressman George E. Brown, Jr. by recognizing individuals whose work honors Brown's vision. The annual event has become the showcase for many pioneers and heroes of the international science and technology communities; and has attracted luminaries from the public and private sectors, and representatives of more than 40 nations.
