Newswise — The registration deadline is now approaching for the 11th Genomic Standards Consortium Meeting (GSC11) to be held April 4 – 6, 2011 at the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, in Hinxton, Cambridge, UK.
This Wellcome Trust Scientific Conference will provide opportunities to hear about and get involved with the activities of the Genomic Standards Consortium, as well as to present and discover important work in the area of standards development, support and application. The GSC meeting will have a special focus on the developing consistent metadata, functional annotation standards, isolated organisms, human pathogens and microbiome studies, as well as the integration of new areas of work into GSC studies.
The scientific organizers include Guy Cochrane from the EMBL European Bioinformatics Institute (UK), Dawn Field from the NERC Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UK), Frank Oliver Glockner, from the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology (Germany), Susanna-Assunta Sansone from the University of Oxford (UK), Lynn Schriml from the Institute for Genome Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Peter Sterk from the GSC/Visitor Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (UK).
