Newswise — (St. Louis)- St. Louis College of Pharmacy has once again been named a “Great College to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
“It is an honor to receive this prestigious recognition for the second straight year,” said College President John A. Pieper, Pharm.D. “I know every one of our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping shape future pharmacy leaders who are positioned to make a positive impact in their community.”
The results, released today in the Chronicle’s sixth annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of more than 44,000 employees at 300 colleges and universities nationwide.
For the second year in a row, the College was recognized for its fairness of compensation and the ability of its benefits to meet the needs of employees. The results are primarily based on faculty and staff feedback through a survey. A second step includes an institutional audit looking at demographics and workplace policies.
“It is very satisfying to know the ‘Great College to Work For’ recognition is driven by the opinion of the College’s faculty and staff members,” said Dan Bauer, director of human resources. “The College strives to find and keep the best faculty and staff available.”
Compensation and benefits at the College are reviewed annually. They are also compared to other employers in the St. Louis area, statewide, and nationally in the public and private sector.
