Reporter Feedback: Newswise Quailty and Organization Preferred over Other Services

One thing media subscribers like about Newswise is that it eliminates confusion and disorganization by providing higher quality sources and being more organized and easily accessible.

Most users, like Wayne Hanson of Government Technology Magazine, prefer Newswise to other services because of these qualities.

“I also get PRNewswire, and PRWeb among others, but they are usually large and unfocused and don’t give me useful items.”

Newswise also makes searching easier and quicker by breaking down topics into Sections, Channels, and Wires. Sections include five different categories of news releases that are organized by the nature of the content and by the type of story.

Channels include more specific topics to search through and are organized by Features and Breaking News. These allow users who are interested in specific topics to find releases based on the topics they care about.

“The science, business and lifestyle/social science categories are pretty good sources for me,” Wayne says.

Wires are also categorized by topic and they are distributed via email to Newswise subscribers every week. Wires are quick resources when time is limited.

“Newswise is a good resource for leads as the ones I receive are focused on topics that I can look through quickly and I usually find one or two items of interest that I forward or keep for one of my stories.” He says, “When I’m in a hurry I look at Newswise.”

Media subscribers are loyal users of Newswise because it allows users to quickly search through topics and articles to find exactly what they want.
