Ryan Himes, MD, specializes in pediatric hepatology and liver transplant medicine at Ochsner Health and serves as section head for pediatric gastroenterology.

His clinical interests include biliary atresia, Alagille syndrome, progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis and other rare causes of liver disease. His division participates in a number of clinical trials that offer access to leading-edge therapies and treatment protocols for children across the Gulf South.

Dr. Himes earned a medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Sint Maarten, and completed a residency in general pediatrics at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, New Jersey. He completed fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
