Newswise — Washington, D.C. – On Feb. 17-19, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) will host a Cyber Security Research and Development (R&D) Showcase and Technical Workshop, at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. The event will provide an opportunity for cybersecurity technology investors, integrators and IT companies to learn about S&T-funded research and development on technologies, tools and techniques that can be used to strengthen the cyber security posture of the nation.

The R&D Showcase on Feb. 17, will feature presentations on results from modeling of internet attacks, moving target defense, software quality assurance, mobile security, cybersecurity forensics, distributed denial of service defense security and economic incentives. Nine innovative solutions and two collaborative projects with the private sector will be featured that are deemed to have potential for transition into the marketplace. The showcase will also include a technology demonstration that features more than 40 additional cyber research projects funded by S&T.

The Technical Workshop, Feb. 18-19, will highlight the work of more than 70 S&T-funded Principal Investigators.
