Newswise — BOSTON – Pernell T. Reid, MD, MHA, MS, an experienced health care administrator with nearly two decades of practice management and financial leadership experience in academic medicine, is joining Mass Eye and Ear (a member hospital of Mass General Brigham) as Senior Vice President of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS). Dr. Reid’s new role will be effective January 1, 2022.
Dr. Reid will oversee administrative efforts and guide strategic planning and implementation for the Department of OHNS, managing financial and clinical operating systems throughout its locations

About Dr. Reid
Dr. Reid most recently served as the Director of Clinical Operations at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, where he oversaw the clinical operations management team, development of financial and operating systems throughout the organization and interdisciplinary initiatives to develop, implement and sustain ambulatory standards and best practices. He was previously the Practice Manager of Clinical Operations at Joslin.
He has also served as Chief Operating Officer/Operations Manager at Pontiac General Hospital in Michigan, Clinical Administrator at Boston Children’s Hospital and Practice Administrator at Lowell Oral Surgery Associates.
Dr. Reid earned a Bachelor of Science from Trinity College; a Master of Health Administration from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School; a Master of Science from Tufts University School of Medicine; and a Doctor of Medicine from St. Martinus University.

Dr. Reid and his family reside in Concord, MA. He enjoys playing basketball and exploring New England with his two children in his spare time.
