WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Author and licensed psychologist Hendrie Weisinger will deliver the first Babcock Leadership Series lecture of the 1999-2000 academic year on Friday, Sept. 17.

All lectures begin at 2 p.m. in Room 1312 of the Worrell Professional Center at Wake Forest University. Speakers discuss current issues affecting business. The series is organized by MBA students at the Babcock Graduate School of Management with generous support from the Broyhill Foundation. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Weisinger is an expert in anger management who has written several books, including "Emotional Intelligence at Work: The Power of Positive Criticism." The book describes how managing emotions and recognizing and dealing with the feelings of others can improve an employee's productivity and bolster an organization's competitive position.

Weisinger teaches in executive education and MBA programs at UCLA, Cornell University, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Washington. He has appeared on "The Today Show" and "Oprah" among other television programs. He frequently consults with and speaks before Fortune 500 companies, and government and professional organizations.
