Newswise — Its original launch, in 2012 offered a speck of user selections, much less any direction or clear meaning of the page itself. Hence, the page fell on the cutting room floor.

Today, with a refined purpose, it delivers a one-stop shop for news media organizations to submit requests in a formal medium and access to the wing's,

· reporting instructions,· press releases,· social media sites,· multimedia posts,· Newswise newsroom,· Defense Video & Imagery Distribution System page· news from other outlets,· contact information, and· public activities.

Just because "media" is in the title doesn't mean it's an exclusive page. Every Citizen Airman has a story to share, even if it's a simple shout out to their loved ones. From the Media Operations page, the Joint Hometown News and "The Wolf's" Hometown Hero forms are just a click away.

Reservists, family members, and anyone with access to the Internet can also share their stories via any of the wing's four (and growing) social networking fan pages: Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, and YouTube.

While designed to focus on media outlets, the Media Operations page is a great support resource for anyone interested in keeping up to date with the wing's activities outside of JBLM, or to tell their story.
