The Great American Brass Band Festival is a three-day celebration featuring world-renowned musicians from 7 countries including Germany and Trinidad and throughout the U.S. The festival is a destination for more than 50,000 brass band enthusiasts who return to Danville every year to hear songs of old Americana, patriotic favorites, and jazz classics. "Music Man" George Foreman, director of the Norton Center for the Arts at Centre College, organizes this annual event that has been featured in major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, and Southern Living. Daniel Rodriguez, veteran of the New York police force and accomplished singer, will be a featured guest on Sunday when he joins NYC police officers and fire fighters in a special performance to remember Americans who have died for their country. This year's events include:

* Chautauqua Tea (June 13th) -- This gathering that recreates the atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century afternoon tea in the country and kicks off the weekend with music and readings.

* Conference on Band History (June 14th) -- A daylong exploration of the history of bands in America featuring presentations by notable experts.

* Great America Balloon Race (June 14th) -- Dozens of hot air balloons fill the sky over Danville for a colorful and festive evening race.

* Great American Picnic (June 15th) -- An outrageous costume-filled evening with good food and a mixture of various brass bands.

* Danville Antique & Garden Show -- Featuring antique dealers from around the country and the Bluegrass Rose Show.

* Community Worship Service (June 16th) -- A community-wide worship service featuring a community choir, The Southern Territorial Band of the Salvation Army, and the Olympia Brass Band.
