Hymn Honors Fallen
UAB University Professor Henry Panion III, Ph.D., has written a hymn, "We Stand Strong," dedicated to the families of those lost in the Sept. 11 attacks. The hymn is simple and musicians can easily add accompaniment. "I wanted it to be easy enough so the average person could sing it, and so congregations could sing it without a piano." Panion sent the hymn via e-mail to his friends, colleagues and fellow musicians. Since then, he has received word that churches, civic groups and schools in across the country, including California, Illinois, Ohio and Virginia, are singing the hymn.
