IMPEACHMENT SOURCE: Joel Grossman, constitutional law scholar

Johns Hopkins University Professor Joel Grossman, a political scientists and Supreme Court scholar with more than 30 years teaching experience, is available to comment on the impeachment proceedings against President Clinton.

Grossman has been studying the impeachment process as it unfolds in Washington. He also has a historical perspective on the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson and the articles of impeachment drafted against President Richard Nixon.

In a recently published paper, The "Public" vs. the "Private" President: Striking A Balance, Grossman examines a number of issues relating to the president, the special prosecutor and impeachment.

He has authored numerous books, including, American Politics: The People and the Polity, and was co-editor of The Oxford Companion to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Prior to coming to Hopkins, Grossman taught for many years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His former students include U.S. Sen. Russell D. Feingold and journalist Jeff Greenfield.
