Background: After suffering a massive stroke on September 13, former Israeli President Shimon Peres, 93, passed away on September 28. One of the world’s most renowned statesmen, Peres was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his role in negotiating the Oslo Accords with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Peres was the last of Israel’s founding fathers and served in every senior position in the Israeli government, including prime minister, before serving his seven-year term as president, from 2007-2014.

Prof. Ziv is available to discuss the legacy of this celebrated leader. He is the author of Why Hawks Become Doves: Shimon Peres and Foreign Policy Change in Israel, an important retrospective and analysis of Peres's seven-decade career.
