Top Fifty Colleges for African Americans

What: Release of a list of the top fifty colleges for African Americans as determined by a survey of 1,077 African American higher education professionals. Those surveyed were asked about the academic and social environments of colleges across the country. The schools were than ranked according to three criteria:
1. survey results
2. African American student graduation rate, and
3. Percentage of African Americans in the undergraduate student body.
When: Tuesday, December 8, 1998, at 10:00 a.m.
