Newswise — Clarkson University is one of the nation's most outstanding business schools, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company profiles the school in the new 2006 edition of its "Best 237 Business Schools."

Says Robert Franek, Princeton Review VP-Publishing, "Every school we profile in this book offers a terrific MBA education, yet each one is distinctive in its academic programs, school offerings, and campus culture. We don't name — and don't think it's useful to name — one best business school overall. The key question for applicants is 'What is the best b-school for me?' To help them decide this, we survey students attending the schools and report what they say about their experiences at them. Our profiles and ranking lists of top schools in various categories are based on straight-from-the-campus data we collected from school administrators and students at the schools."

The Princeton Review ranks the top 10 schools in several categories. The categories are based on institutional data from the schools and on surveys of 16,000 students attending the 237 schools profiled in the book. The survey asked students over 50 questions about themselves, their career plans, and their schools' academics, student body, and campus life. Conducted during the 2004-05 and 2003-04 academic years, the surveys were done primarily online. Clarkson students are ranked the ninth most competitive among the 237 universities listed.

"The Princeton Review's recognition of our MBA program again this year is gratifying," remarked Timothy Sugrue, dean of the Clarkson School of Business. Our students are focused and determined to be successful, as reflected in our ranking in the magazine's "most competitive students" category. Our inclusion among the world's most elite business schools verifies the quality of our faculty and our MBA program." Employers also like Clarkson's MBA program. In past year's more than 80% of the B school's graduates have been scooped up by such companies as IBM, Boeing, GE, Grainger, HSBC, Lockheed Martin, Google and others within three months of graduation.
