Newswise — Sbarro Health Research Organization (http://www.shro.org), a non-profit group that funds innovative basic research designed to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease, will join Roche Diagnostics in an on-site agreement that will provide supplies to researchers at SHRO labs.

Antonio Giordano, M.D., PhD., founder and president of SHRO and director of the Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine and the Center for Biotechnology in Temple's College of Science and Technology, announced the agreement in Philadelphia.

"With this agreement, the first of its kind for SHRO, we will be able to strengthen an already strong research program, to add to our existing technologies, and to realize even more benefits from our research dollars," says Giordano.
