Newswise — New York University President John Sexton and Board of Trustees Chairman Martin Lipton today announced the names of those to be honored at the University's 172nd Commencement Exercises, which will be held Thursday, May 13th, in Washington Square Park.

Richard Parsons, Chairman and CEO of Time-Warner, who will receive a Doctor of Commercial Science degree, honoris causa, will offer "A Response on Behalf of the Honorary Degree Recipients," an NYU tradition.

This year's other recipients of honorary doctorates are: "¢ Mohamed El-Baradei, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, who will receive a Doctor of Laws degree, honoris causa. "¢ C. Duncan Rice, principal and vice-chancellor of the University of Aberdeen and former dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science and vice-chancellor of NYU, who will receive a Doctor of Humane Letters degree, honoris causa."¢ Judith Rodin, outgoing president of the University of Pennsylvania, who will receive a Doctor of Humane Letters degree, honoris causa."¢ Tatsura Toyoda, chairman and CEO of the Toyota Corporation and an alumnus of NYU's Stern School of Business, who will receive a Doctor of Commercial Science degree, honoris causa.
