Newswise — Michigan Technological University’s long history of ice hockey, dating back to 1919, makes it a perfect place for a hockey school. Michigan Tech’s location in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan makes it a perfect location for a summer hockey school.

Tech’s summer hockey camps are celebrating their 40th season this summer. Skaters as young as 9 and up to 16—boys and girls alike—can learn the basics or hone their skills. The week-long hockey camps run from July 10-August 12 in the MacInnes Ice Arena on the Michigan Tech campus in Houghton, Mich.

NHL players Tony Esposito, Bob Lorimer, Randy McKay, John Scott, and Chris Conner all played for the Michigan Tech Huskies. Maybe the next pro will strap on the skates this summer!

Michigan Tech also offers figure skating camp and, for the first time this year, a beginner’s “learn-to-skate” camp.
