(March 16, 2011)—Monday, April 18, is the deadline for Americans to file their federal and state income tax returns and American University faculty experts are available to comment on a variety of tax-related issues, including federal income taxes, corporate and partnership taxes, and tax accounting and procedures.

Donald Williamson, director of the MS in Taxation program at American University’s Kogod School of Business, can discuss federal income, estate and gift , and corporate and partnership taxes, as well as tax accounting and procedures, income tax credits and international tax issues. He can also discuss tax issues in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. David Kautter, executive in residence and managing director of the new Kogod Tax Center, can discuss federal income tax issues related to individual tax returns and small businesses. The center focuses on tax issues that address the needs of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and middle income taxpayers. Before coming to AU, Kautter was the director of national tax at Ernst & Young, a role in which he oversaw the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of more than 1,500 professionals in more than 60 domestic and global locations.
