Newswise — After more than eight months of bargaining, the University of Chicago Medical Center and National Nurses United reached a tentative agreement for a new collective bargaining agreement just before midnight Monday.

As a result of the tentative agreement, NNU has withdrawn its strike notice that was scheduled to begin Thursday, April 30, 2015.

Both bargaining teams will work on converting the verbal agreements into a written contract on Tuesday. Until that process is complete, both UCMC and NNU have agreed not to discuss the terms.
