College Students Receive High Marks For Napping

(Boston, Mass.)-- Boston University Professor William Anthony, author of the book The Art of Napping, says that the first Sunday of daylight savings time, should be celebrated as "National Nap Day."

In recognition of National Sleep Awareness Week, a recently completed survey of Boston University students found:

-- Over 90% of the survey respondents regularly take naps,
-- 96% of respondents believe that they perform better in school when they are well rested,
-- Prime napping hours are 4-6 PM,
-- Blankets and music are the napping aids of choice.

"We should take a lesson from the college students, as they clearly recognize the benefits of a good nap."

Although most people need 8 hours of sleep, millions of Americans are sleep deprived. This Sunday, April 4, Anthony urges people to make up for the artificial time change by taking a nap. He encourages people to "turn your clocks ahead at 2 a.m. and your sheets back at 2 p.m."

In order to make sure that workers don't forget what they learned at college about napping, Anthony and his wife Camille, will be publishing a new book this fall entitled, "The Art of Napping at Work." http://www.napping.com
