Third Annual ‘Quotes for a Cure’ Program Benefits The Cancer Institute of New Jersey
Newswise — New Brunswick, N.J., November 30, 2011 – Exceeding its goal by $10,000, Allstate New Jersey Insurance Company raised a record-breaking $50,000 this year for its “Quotes for a Cure” program to benefit The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ). Over the past three years in its efforts to lend a hand in the fight against cancer, Allstate New Jersey has raised a total of $95,000 through the campaign to support research, treatment, prevention and education programs at CINJ. CINJ is New Jersey’s only Comprehensive Cancer Center as designated by the National Cancer Institute and a Center of Excellence of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
For a six-week period this fall, Allstate New Jersey donated $10 to the CINJ Foundation for every auto or life insurance quote requested through Allstate New Jersey’s 240 agents. After having success in previous years with social media platforms, Allstate New Jersey once again encouraged its agents and employees to promote the program and educate followers about CINJ and the campaign via Facebook and Twitter.
William P. Ballinger, president of Allstate New Jersey, reflected on the program saying, “Exceeding our fundraising goal for the second straight year speaks to the commitment by our agents and those in our community in addressing a disease that touches the lives of so many. All of us in the Allstate family are pleased that we are able to contribute in this way.”

Earlier this month, members of the Allstate New Jersey team toured CINJ laboratories and learned first hand about the cutting-edge research being done there.
