Newswise — As the U.S. woke up this morning to news of a terror attack in Brussels, Belgium, Salisbury University junior John Thompson recalled his time there last semester – and wondered where his overseas friends and professors were.

An international studies major from Readington, NJ, Thompson was studying such topics as European peace and security and contemporary conflicts at Vesalius College in Brussels when the Paris attacks occurred in November. His classes were suspended and he was locked down in his apartment when much of the city of Brussels was shut down in the days following.

Thompson is available to speak with media today to discuss his experiences living in Belgium in the aftermath of the Paris attacks and share his perspective on this latest attack. Please contact SU’s Public Relations Office at 410-543-6030 or [email protected] to schedule.
