Newswise — On Sept. 12, Harris Health System celebrated the completion of Smith Clinic, the system’s first outpatient specialty facility. The new facility enhances and expands specialty care for patients formerly seen at hospital-based clinics located at Ben Taub Hospital.

After almost two years of construction, the five-story, nearly 168,000-square-foot facility was completed two months ahead of schedule. Partial services for patients began Sept. 4, with a full complement of services scheduled for Oct. 1.

Within Smith Clinic, patients also will have access to the latest cancer diagnostic and treatment in the J. Evans and Mary P. Attwell Radiation Therapy Center.
