Newswise — The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) launches mobile-friendly access to the websites of its award-winning bimonthly journals, American Journal of Critical Care (AJCC) and Critical Care Nurse (CCN).

When accessed from iPhones and Androids, mobile-friendly versions of AJCC, www.ajcconline.org, and CCN, www.ccnonline.org, auto-configure to the size of these smartphone screens to prevent tiling (overlapping of images). This reader-friendly interface lets users search current and previous issues and move easily between the journals.

Mobile-friendly access increases the availability of timely research in AJCC, which focuses on up-to-date clinical research, case reports, editorials and commentaries; and CCN, which offers timely hands-on information about traditional and emerging critical care issues for high acuity, progressive and critical care nurses.

Michael Muscat, AACN’s publishing manager, says mobile-friendly journals offer greater convenience to busy caregivers that can enhance practice.

“Mobile-friendly access to the American Journal of Critical Care and Critical Care Nurse means nurses with iPhones and Androids can avail themselves of up-to-date clinical information. They can access this information anytime, anywhere,” he explains.

For a limited time, the journals’ mobile-friendly websites can be accessed from iPhones or Androids without logging in. This open access allows clinicians using these devices to easily read and share clinical information with colleagues.

To subscribe to these award-winning journals, visit www.ajcconline.org and www.ccnonline.org. AACN members automatically receive subscriptions to AJCC and CCN.
